Stocks start the week on a positive note

European stocks have received a boost this morning from ECB President Christine Lagarde. In an interview with Politico today, she said the eurozone economy is at a turning point and regarding the possibility of winding down the current stimulus package she said it was “far too early to debate these issues”.

In the US the June meeting of the FOMC will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday with policy expected to remain unchanged but investors will be looking for hints that the central bank may be shifting its view on inflation.

Key data releases this week include the UK jobs report and inflation data.
