Following a sharp sell-off at the start of the week on rising delta variant cases, markets have recovered quickly. UK and European stocks are set to open up, following the US and Asia higher.

In Europe, investors will be looking out for the ECB rate meeting and the latest announcement regarding monetary policy, along with a number of earnings releases from major companies.

In the US the weekly jobless claims number is due with 350,000 new claims forecasted.
