Stocks lower on increasing inflation fears

Stocks are lower today after a sell-off in US Technology stocks. Increasing inflation fears and rising commodity prices spooked the markets on Monday. Latest data out of China showed a sharp increase in inflation in April. Investors will now be focusing on US inflation numbers due for release tomorrow with concerns that the Fed may have to tighten if inflation increases as economies open.

In the UK the Queen’s speech will take place today and the government will set out its plans for the coming months.
