UK and European stocks are following the US market higher today as markets recover from the sell-off at the start of the week.

Wall Street was higher with investors more optimistic after strong second quarter earnings from a number of companies. It is estimated that approximately 85% of S&P 500 companies have beaten forecasts so far.
