Stocks attempt to bounce back at start of week

UK and European stocks are trying to recover this morning from last week’s decline. US futures are also in the green, attempting to bounce back after major US indices fell for five consecutive days. Concerns over global growth and China’s regulatory crackdown remain in focus.

Rising inflation fears are also in focus this week with CPI data due from the US and UK. Data this morning shows German wholesale prices in August rose 12.3% year-on-year, its highest level since 1974.
