Stocks are trading in a subdued fashion this morning, treading water ahead of the US Fed’s Jackson Hole symposium which starts tomorrow. It is hoped that Fed Chairman Jerome Powell will provide some clarity on the timing of any tapering of the central bank’s bond-buying program in his speech on Friday, although some believe that due to uncertainty over the Covid situation this may get pushed back to September.
