The surge in coronavirus cases across Europe continues to hold the market’s attention. On Wednesday, Angela Merkel made a U-turn on her decision of a 5-day Easter lock-down in Germany. EU leaders are meeting virtually to discuss the situation and possible blocks on vaccine exports.

EU and UK leaders attempted to ease tensions on Wednesday with a joint statement saying both sides were looking for a “win-win” solution.
